The Shaker Courts Experience

A DIVERSE COMMUNITY OF ENGAGED RESIDENTS

Located at Shaker Square, the historic intersection of Cleveland and Shaker Heights, the Shaker Courts Condominiums are minutes from all the amenities of University Circle and the eastern suburbs. Downtown Cleveland is a short ride away—just hop on the Rapid Transit right outside. The 154-unit Shaker Courts Condominiums Association (SCCA) complex consists of seven, World War II-era, well-maintained and well-managed, multi-storied brick buildings that stretch along Shaker Boulevard just east of Van Aken Boulevard and that are connected via the indoor parking garage.

Shaker Courts is home to young, as well as mid-career and retired, professionals, singles, couples and families. Situated within the Shaker Heights City School District, children can attend Shaker public schools or one of the fine independent schools nearby.

Whether they are long-time locals who choose Shaker Courts after downsizing or are out-of-towners moving to Cleveland for a new job or graduate school or something in-between, SCCA residents value living in a community that offers the best of the urban and suburban experience.

Resident Testimonials

Helen Cherry

This year I decided to downsize and moved to Shaker Courts from across the tracks. With the help of Carol the wonderful Manager I found the perfect condominium. I am so happy to be here, I love my place and the staff that work here are terrific. I tell everyone about it and when they come to visit they are very jealous!

Moving from our home into Shaker Courts Condominiums, we looked forward to a simpler life in our cozy unit, the beautiful views, the vibe of Shaker Square, and the proximity of Shaker Lakes. We have all that and even more. We have met wonderful friends and are constantly impressed by the superb management of the condos. Life is good, and getting better!

Architecture, ambiance and atmosphere best represent qualities that make Shaker Courts the place that I have enjoyed living since 1984. Architecture is reflected by an atypical layout of rooms which are more like those of a residence rather than a conventional apartment. Large closet spaces, nooks and crannies, large windows that allow overlooking trees on Van Aken or Shaker Boulevard. Ambiance is represented by creature comforts: comfortable lobby areas, the garage running underneath the complex of buildings allows one to visit neighbors in winter without going outside. A choice of terraces with some suites brings the extension of outdoors a seasonal delight. Atmosphere is created by the location: Walking distance to Shaker Square and to the network of Shaker Lakes and Park Systems. Looking out of your window you might have the joyful sight of a bird on a branch or Shaker Rapid as it glides by on its journey downtown. Built at a time when concerns for architecture, ambiance and atmosphere were more a priority, Shaker Courts fits the bill of a home.

The Troia Family

Since moving to Shaker Courts in Spring of 2015, my family has been debating what we like best about being here. All of us love being able to walk up to Shaker Square and go to the farmers market, dine at one the many restaurants, see a movie, grab groceries, or have a coffee date with a friend. Living at Shaker Courts offers more than just a great location though. My husband loves the ease of living and the wonderful staff at Shaker Courts. I love that we have the privacy of our own home while still having many opportunities to engage in a community of neighbors. We can choose to attend the monthly book club, the New Year’s Eve Party and more. We all especially love the July 4th celebration where we ooh and ah over firework displays from the Cleveland area visible from the shared rooftop terrace. And, last minute potluck picnics pop up when there is a promise of a gorgeous sunset. One thing we all agree on is that we are very, very happy here!
